Key Lime Pie

I forget when this idea first occurred to me... I know it was after someone I was working with described Key Lime Pie to a colleague as "like cheesecake", and that was quite some time ago...

...Typical me, taking absolutely blimmin' ages to follow up on a brilliant idea.

The QR Code links to a recipe for Key Lime Pie on my foodie blog [link] - checked by my ever-helpful sister - and my hope is to turn this into a T-Shirt but, like so many of my other T-Shirt ideas, that's probably going to take a while...

Not least because I've been reworking it, replacing the original rough, loose scroll and typeface with this hand-drawn scroll and text, which I'm now much happier with.

All of this was sketched, inked, scanned, Illustrator Live Traced (because I'm lazy), tidied up a bit (because I'm not that lazy) and finally coloured. Some of the colours have been altered since the first version, and a bit more colour has been added to the face. Plus, there are lime slices in the background, just to liven it up a bit.

The original draft came out quite well on a T-shirt, but the second version did not (I suspect a mistake was made, because I'm pretty sure there's low-res anti-aliasing that shouldn't be there when working from a vector).

I reckon this one will be the winner... If only I can stop fiddling with it... pretty much settled on this as the final full colour version intended for a dark green t-shirt. How long for is anyone's guess.
